This Christmas/ Mission to the Mountains

Haiti Gospel Mission would like to Wish all of you a very Merry Christmas!! This Christmas in Haiti will be very special for HGM. This year marks the second annual Christmas play for the church in Despinos. The kids have been practicing very hard. Last year a number of people turned out to see what had never been done here before. they were delightfully surprised as the kids did a wonderful job doing the Christmas story .

We are really looking forward to the play this year. The story will begin with Zakariah being told of his son to be, John. We hope to have a great turn out this year as it is such an attraction and such a great opportunity to give the salvation message following the play. Please pray for our kids as they put on a show for our community.

Our church members were able to go with our missionaries up to the mountains this past week. It was a special time being able to joing our friends there in Merbalais. We participated in their prayer service, and one of our members, fre Jean gave a message. After the service we went to visit Emmit. Emmit was saved earlier this year from voodoo. She was a mumbo which is a woman witch doctor. April Hess has visited here several times through out the year and only recently she fell ill. We went to visit her and apon arriving April realized that she had had a stroke. April worked with her for a time trying to bring her blood pressure down. Before the group went up there it was understood and believe that Emmit was being attacked by satan. This was not so, but it was a physical condition and high blood, which contributed to the stroke.

We ask that you pray for Emmit and her health. When asked about the situation, she said that she was asked to participate in a voodoo ceremony as she had done before, but she refused and trusted that God would help her. She is not doing well and needs our prayers.
